SUMMER OF RIESLING DINNER – AUGUST 17, 2012 AT 5:00 PM
The Bluebird is celebrating the Summer of Riesling by hosting a special “Ode to Austria” dinner on Friday, August 17th.
In addition to our regular food & wine lists, we’ll offer a special Austrian Riesling 4-course prix fixe menu, created by Chef Dave Ford, with wine pairings carefully selected by our sommelier Jeremy Quinn:
House-made grammel schmaltz, rye bread, endive, orange, mustard seed
Paired with: Brandl 2009 Riesling ‘Heiligenstein’, Kamptal
Lardo-wrapped prawn, grilled plum, kohlrabi
Paired with: Rudi Pichler 2008 Riesling Federspiel, Wachau
Veal schnitzel, braised cherry, sauerkraut spatzle, nettles
Paired with: Lagler 2010 Riesling ‘Eimerberg’ Smaragd, Wachau
Pork strudel, apple, spinach, mushroom, braised pecan
Paired with: Prager 2009 Riesling ‘Steinriegl’ Federspiel, Wachau
