Austrian Reds: 90 Sips in short….

This season marked the biggest celebration of Austrian red wines to date and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Beginning in October, we held a plethora of tastings at wine shops, wine dinners at top restaurant accounts, wine events in conjunction with some of our friends, online wine tastings, and so much more including a tour of the Austrian hot spots in NYC on Austria National Day! The entire celebration concluded with the much-anticipated Wein Burgenland Magnum Party at the soon-to-be-open The Third Man bar in Alphabet City, an Austrian cocktail bar owned and operated by the Michelin-starred team from Seasonal and Edi & the Wolf, Eduard Frauneder and Wolfgang Ban.

The party featured multiple bottles of over 40 wines and was attended by the industry-elite in an all-out celebration lasting to the wee hours of the morning! In a word: success.

We’d like to take this moment to thank so many of our friends who helped make the season bright!

Thankfully, just because the party is over, it doesn’t mean we won’t continue to enjoy the red wines all season long. In fact, winter is one of the best times to enjoy the wines as they’re perfect for the season’s cuisine! Don’t worry, we’ll leave our cheat sheet up a little longer so that you can impress your friends this holiday season!

So PROST to all those who were involved in this season’s celebration! Here’s to many more years of delicious Austrian red wine and….

Happy 90th Birthday to our most widely-planted red grape, Zweigelt!
