Announcing Austria Uncorked: San Francisco’s Best Sommelier 2018

We are pleased to announce Austria Uncorked: Best Sommelier is heading to San Francisco this October 15th!

We’re looking for the best and brightest in the industry to go head-to-head with their peers in a written, blind-tasting, and service oriented competition for a chance to wine a coveted spot on the biennial Austrian Wine Summit happening May 25th-30th, 2019.

We’ll be kicking off the competition on September 6th at The Barrel Room in San Francisco with a two-hour long masterclass presented by Jesse Becker, MS. During the class you will get an in-depth overview of the region and a chance to taste 12+ Austrian wines. We highly recommend attending the class to anyone who is interested in participating in the competition, though it is not required.

To register for the class, please visit this link.

The qualifying test will be released September 10th during which time interested candidates have two days to complete it. Those who qualify will be informed and officially become contestants of the competition. Throughout the following month we will release practice exams, helpful study tips, and additional information. Contestants will also be celebrated across social media.

Stay tuned for more information! May the best sommelier win!

**Please note you do not have to be a sommelier to enter, but you must be part of or studying to become an active part of the wine industry.
